Marc records

An initial MARC record set is sent, and thereafter monthly sets with new titles. When titles have been selected after the 12 month period, De Gruyter provides a MARC record set for the selection list. De Gruyter can provide tailored service with providing MARC record sets.

Metadata standards

De Gruyter provide metadata for e-books (article/chapter data) and KBART files to indexing and discovery services.

Since the recently-launched cooperation with the Common Library Network (GBV), MARC of records appear in two versions on the platform:

  1. With publication of an e-book to the platform, minimal records are automatically generated from its data. These records are on a very minimal level with just enough data to populate a catalogue and link to the content
  2. Approximately six weeks after publication, the initial metadata is replaced with high quality MARC records of the GBV

Libraries may freely edit all MARC records to their needs and load them into their union catalogues.
