University of Michigan Press' E-book Collection offers access to over 1,500 scholarly e-book titles across the humanities and social sciences (growing by around 80 books a year) on a perpetual purchase acquisition model.
The new University of Michigan Press E-book Collection (UMP EBC) is a collection of new scholarly e-books and an extensive backlist collection. The collection features peer-reviewed, faculty-selected content in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, with particular strength in political science, performing arts, classics and archaeology, and American studies.
This agreement offers perpetual access to the Frontlist collection (titles published in 2021), or any year of the Backlist (2012-2020). The Complete Backlist is also available. On purchasing the Frontlist your institution will be given complementary access to the entire UMP e-book catalogue for one year.
In addition, an Early Adopter Discount of 5% will apply to all orders for Frontlist or Backlist collections placed before 31 August 2021.
The e-books are hosted on the Fulcrum platform, with the back-up option of copies provided for local hosting by your institution.
A full list of available titles can be found on the Publisher's website: UMP E-book Collection.

Complementary access to the entire catalogue (2012 to current year) is offered for one year when a perpetual purchase of any collection is made. The backlist includes over 1,500 titles between 2012-2020. UMP is continuing to add additional titles from years prior to 2012.

Approximately 80 new titles are published each year.
Titles are hosted on the Fulcrum platform. From https://fulcrum.org/accessibility:
Fulcrum aims to meet the latest WCAG 2 AA Standards (currently WCAG 2.1 AA) in two ways:
Fulcrum's compliance with WCAG 2.0 and Section 508 is reported in a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT®) Version 2.3 INT. Content compliance is reported in collection specific VPATs. The most recent UMP EBC VPAT can be found here: https://www.fulcrum.org/docs/Fulcrum-UMPEBC-VPAT2.3INT-20200519.pdf.
Additional information about accessibility features, compatibility, and known issues can be found here: https://www.fulcrum.org/accessibility.

If you would like to add an IP address to your authorised range (or remove one), please send us your update request by contacting membersupport@lyrasis.org, and the data will be forwarded to the technical support team.
Fulcrum supports access for your institution's members through federated Single Sign-On technologies such as Shibboleth or OpenAthens. Fulcrum is a member of InCommon and participates in eduGAIN. Allowing your members to access UMP EBC via your Shibboleth/OpenAthens Identity Provider requires the following:
UMP EBC is OpenURL compliant on the title level, but not on the chapter and page level. In order to offer the most stable link to an individual title, you may use the title-specific digital object identifier, or DOI, which can be found in the book's catalogue record, and the format for which matches the following example: https://doi.org/10.3998/mpub.9853855
The Citable Link may be used to link to a title in the UMP EBC collection on syllabi and course packs or on learning management systems such as Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas and D2L.
MARC records are available free to purchasers of UMP EBC and can be downloaded here: https://umich.app.box.com/s/oxuimlw7m656w9ngpjfwim10zdqxy5at.
Users can refine their search, save their search results, email their search history and save results as citations.
Basic searches can be by author, title, and subject. Advanced searches are possible using boolean operators, and proximity, bibliographic, and series searches.
Libraries can access their COUNTER 5 usage statistics at https://fulcrum.org/counter_reprts. Access to this page is authenticated via IP address, so no separate admin/login information is needed. You may need to alter the previous link to a proxied URL in order for IP authentication to work.
