SAGE Journals accessibility page

What is the maximum font size and does text re-flow when you enlarge the font?
Articles are displayed as HTML, so text size increases with browser settings, and text re-flows.

Can a user change background/foreground colours or contrasts? How?

Are there keyboard-only equivalents for all mouse actions? Where could I find a list? Are there short cut keys to reduce tabbing round links?
Yes, there are keyboard only equivalents for all mouse actions. Each page does have a "skip to main content" link right at the top. See SAGE has also added a much more visible focus outline to help users navigate the site using their keyboard more easily.

Is text marked up so it can be navigated in a meaningful way (for example by heading level)?
Yes, text is marked up so it can be navigated by heading level. In 2018, SAGE made major revisions to the heading structure of SAGE Journals, making it easier for users of screen readers to use headings to navigate around the page.

Can text be selected and read by text-to-speech tools?
In 2018, SAGE implemented some enhancements to help users use text-to-speech tools: The publisher changed how hidden text (for example, the information in the "contributor" pop-ups) is handled to improve compatibility with screen readers. SAGE has added a warning before a user's session expires, giving them the opportunity to extend their session. This is in order to comply with WCAG guidelines on giving disabled users enough time to complete a task.

Are text descriptions available for all relevant graphics and images?
The publisher has ensured that alt text, where available in the content, is rendered on the platform correctly, as well as fixing missing or incorrect alt text for navigational images and icons on the site.

Where can I find guidance for all these features?
